Mukund Padmanabhan is the Associate Editor for The Hindu in Chennai, India, one of the country’s most respected national newspapers in English. He writes for the editorial section of the newspaper on a range of subjects including legal and political issues. He is also involved with the newspaper’s supplements such as The Literary Review, The Sunday Magazine, Friday Review and MetroPlus (the last being a city-based supplement published from many centres).

He has been with The Hindu for almost nine years now. Before this, he worked in other publications in India such as The Indian Express and Sunday (a weekly magazine).

Formerly, he was a Lecturer in Philosophy in Delhi University and at the College of Journalism in Chennai, and has undertaken research in the subject at Delhi University and the London School of Economics.
